Battery safety. Simple habits that matter.

Use the supplied charger or a manufacturer-authorised replacement for your exact model. A plug that fits is not proof of compatibility. Inspect the charger, cable and port before charging; stop if anything is damaged or wet.

Charge on a firm, dry surface away from flammable materials. Keep the battery and charger uncovered, allow a warm battery to cool after riding, and unplug once charging is complete. Stay awake and present throughout. Never charge overnight, while asleep or when away from home.

Do not overload sockets or extension leads. Follow the charging sequence and charge-time guidance in your manual.

Do not store or charge your scooter, bike or battery where it could block an exit, staircase or communal escape route. Keep it away from combustible materials, heat and direct sunlight. Avoid damp areas and extreme temperatures.

Have suitable, working smoke or heat alarms for the space and make sure everyone knows how to leave safely. Follow any building rules for battery storage and charging.

Stop using and charging the battery if you notice swelling, a cracked case, leaks, unusual heat, strong chemical smells, hissing or cracking. A sudden change in charging behaviour also needs checking.

If you can do so without approaching a hazardous battery, switch off the power. Keep people away and contact our team for advice once safe. Do not open, puncture, press, carry or test-charge a suspect battery. Damage after a fall or collision may not be visible.

If smoke appears or there is fire, leave immediately and call 999. Do not wait for a support reply.

Leave the area immediately, raise the alarm, stay out and call 999. Do not attempt to extinguish a lithium-ion battery fire yourself or move the burning device. Avoid the smoke and do not put yourself at risk to disconnect the charger or retrieve belongings.

Once everyone is safe and emergency services have dealt with the incident, contact us with the product and order details. Never recreate the fault to take a photo or video.

Switch the device off and keep it somewhere dry, stable and protected from knocks, heat and temperature extremes. For longer storage, follow your manual on battery charge level and checking intervals; there is no single setting suitable for every battery.

Do not leave it permanently connected to the charger. Before returning to use, check for damage and follow your model guidance. Keep children and pets away from chargers and battery connections.

Keep charging connections dry and never charge a wet device. After submersion, suspected water ingress or a significant impact, stop using it and ask our team before charging. Do not open the battery enclosure or use heat to dry it.

Range can change with temperature, rider load, terrain and riding settings. A sudden or unexplained drop deserves investigation; do not repeatedly run or charge a suspect battery to test it.

Ask us to confirm compatibility before buying a battery or charger. Share your model and order details; only provide label photos if the product is safe to approach.

Do not rebuild battery packs, bypass the battery management system, alter wiring or modify the electrical system. Arrange appropriate professional help for battery faults.

Do not put lithium-ion batteries in general waste or ordinary household recycling, and never burn them. Contact us or your local council for an appropriate collection or recycling route. Tell them if the battery is damaged before taking it anywhere.

Contact EnviroRides before sending a battery or battery-powered product back, especially if it is damaged. Do not post a suspect battery or bring it to the depot without agreed safe handling arrangements. Follow the carrier and collection instructions provided.
