What Is the Fastest Electric Scooter?

If you feel the need, the need for speed, you might be interested in the question “what is the fastest electric scooter in the UK that I can buy?”

When you’re choosing the best electric scooter for your needs, there are lots of things you might want to consider such as battery life, terrain, charging time and weight. Unless you’re planning on using your e-scooter to race, then the top speed shouldn’t be the single determining factor.

However, the thrill of riding along at speed with the win in your face can be exhilarating. And now there are electric scooters which offer unbelievable speed. We take a look at some of the UK's fastest e scooter that money can buy right now.

What’s the Fastest Electric Scooter on the Market?

Here at EnviroRides, we have a good selection of premium eScooters including fast electric scooters for adults. Whether you’re looking for an eco-friendly commute or a speed demon which will thrill you to the core, you’ll find the e-scooter you need in our shop.

The fastest scooter we have in our shop is the EVR Pro. With a top speed of 55 miles per hour, you’ll be zipping around at spine-tingling speeds with a range of up to 35 miles.

And although that’s pretty impressive, there are some performance e-scooters in the market which can go even faster. The Dualtron X 2 is the most powerful, and the fastest, e-scooter at the time of writing, and has the potential to reach 68mph.

However, to achieve such an amazing top speed there has to be some compromise and that’s in the weight. The Dualtron X2 is a heavy piece of kit - you won’t be folding this scooter up and carrying it around on your daily commute!

The X2 weighs 66 kg, but if you’re willing to compromise on your speed a little, you can have a lightweight e-scooter that still has plenty of acceleration in its wheels. The R1+ which can reach a top speed of 50 miles per hour, but only weighs a paltry 30 kg. To put that in perspective, you could carry two R1+ e-scooters and still have less weight than a single Dualtron X2!

What is a Good Speed for an Electric Scooter?

If you enjoy riding fast, there may be the temptation to look for the top speed electric scooter, but high-performance scooters won’t be the ideal choice for everyone. There are many factors to take into account when choosing your e-scooter, and speed is just one of many things you’ll need to balance up.

It’s possible to enjoy a fast electric scooter while also staying safe, and enjoying the many other benefits. For example, the P1+ has an impressive top speed of 45mph, a light weight of 22 kg and a range of 35 miles. As well as being fast, the P1+ is also strong, capable of supporting up to 120 kg - compared to 150 kg for the Dualtron X2. This means even if you’re big and beefy, there’s a scooter out there for you!

Anything with a speed of 15.5mph or upwards is a good speed for an e-scooter. Lots of modern scooters have a higher speed capacity, but it’s important to consider both legality and safety.

Is 15.5mph Fast for an Electric Scooter?

In the UK, the maximum speed that an e-scooter can travel at is capped at 15.5mph. In some trial areas, the permitted speed is even lower, limited to just 8mph. Therefore, if you’re considering a scooter which you hope to use on the streets eventually, the speed will be limited to 15.5mph.

If you’re planning to go off-road with your electric scooter, you might want to crank the speed-up a notch. But don’t forget, without the smooth road surfaces and with an unpredictable terrain, it could be very dangerous to ride faster!
